10. My grandma got scammed twice by these river shitters. Once they got her to buy several thousand dollers of google play cards one time, and the 2nd time they got her, she was stopped by a friend who had to physically yank the cards out of her hand.

16. I had to take control of my mom's account . I actually feel bad for the scammers they call her and she runs down every family members life and then hers then they say something and she goes on another tirade about the weather and plants. Then when they are about to snap they ask for banking info and she tells them oh I don't have control over that my daughter does all my banking lol

17. If you’re trying to assist some of these victims, and they don’t even believe the LEOs, let them lose their cash. I don’t care how old or uninformed these victims are.

    My wife’s dad was scammed by some “lady” that supposedly fell in love with him even though they only chatted a couple times. All three of his daughters told him not to fall for it, yet he did anyway. So he lost his meager savings. But that wasn’t enough. Three months later, another “lady” conned him out of the savings he was trying to build back up.

    My wife’s dad is a guy that thinks women really want him. He’s 5’6”, heavy with rotted teeth. His wife, my wife’s mom, died about eight years ago. But her dad has been flirting online for quite a while.

    But I say, let some of these people that are too pigheaded lose whatever it is they lose.

23. One time someone called me (American accent)., and tried to make me believe I had to report to my local police dept because he said I had missed reporting to jury duty in Ohio. I lived in Ohio part time. This guy had me really going until he told me instead of going to the police I could pay money. I dont remember how much because I think I called his bluff and hung up the phone by that time. It took up a lot of my time because he was reading off a script of legalese. That made me think it was legit.

I wanted to point something out, the startup folder thing does not stay between system reinstalls if i remember correctly, if it does, i stand corrected and declare myself a fool, for it to stay between system installs, you would have to modify the BIOS with that funny virus that took advantage of the UEFI unencrypted data on the UEFI patrition on a disk, and get the motherboard to install a driver or a piece of software that will put the thing back on the system, and as i said, if that's more or less what you're doing, i stand corrected
