In this video I swing by Andy’s shop as he is replacing all eight drive tires on his Peterbilt. He gives us a demonstration on how to change the tires by hand and shows us a torque wrench that goes up to 600ft lbs! Not to mention that the tires on this truck cost about $700 EACH!
-Enjoy!

  1. I used to change big truck tires by hand for my uncle Mike after school, 5 bucks a tire was good money for a lad in the early 90s I could usually do about four in an hour and have enough money to get a couple packs of smokes and a small bag of weed.

  2. Andy I love the air tank blaster you made! Back in my day it was starting fluid and a match which worked just fine. The old wheels had to be in a cage.. If memory serves me well I thought it was a 100 lbs. and not 120, but as you say my shop my rules!!

  3. Andy clears the barrel like a pro. Nice job. My father used to do the Brown and Root thing as a logger. Your shop reminds me of old times. Nice, neat, and full of echos

  4. I did that for 8 hours per day, unload the truck, dismount the tires, fix what could be fixed, install new ones or caps on the ones that couldn't be fixed, usually started the day with a hangover ,then did 4 hours of school at ITT in Ft Wayne then drank beer and played ueker sp? till we ran out of beer and started all over again unloading tires or loading/stacking the old ones,. Super Tire engineering

  5. fancy way of dismounting a tire. though since i do this for a living i could have gotten that dismounted a little quicker not bad for owner operator though. and good choice on those XDN2's though
