Does installing a new valve body require a trip to the dealership for reprogramming of the system ?
For the record, I love all your videos! Especially since you started working for yourself.
Ray listens to the Macarena and works on transmission! I want to be you when I grow up!
Iv met to many mechani s that claim to be "master mechanics" it's refreshing to actually learn from a real one thanks ray I appreciate everything you show to us even the german voices ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘😂
NISSAN FRONTIER 2005 biggest pice of crap ever I had one with a manual transmission and clutch went out and the special two stage clutch was no longer available cost me $25,000 for a stupid clutch crap.
As always you hit the nail right on the head. Your ability to fault find and fix is second to none. Live long and prosper.
What's that music 🎶 in the background 😂â¤
Nine work men
ide solder that
I have changed out the transmission
Good job ray saved the transmission and the owner a ton of cash!
Ray, the MPFI Jeeps were notorious for this very thing the "heat soak" Jeeps answer was to insulate the fuel injectors and this took care of 95% of the issue. I had this on every 4.0 Jeep I had especially the Cherokee XJs as the underhood temps would get ridiculous. Jeepers would add hood blocks, install hood vents, and add the insulators to the fuel injectors. Having the injectors live where they do wasn't exactly a genius brainstorm. Hope this helps you! I've always heard that Nissan is the Chrysler of Japan… Therefore, it makes sense that Nissan's are always in the shop…
Great Find! You the man!
You basically dropped a baby and saved it by its umbilical cord 😂
They’re still playing “Macarena†in Florida?! What a backwards place. Please move to California Ray!
Use high temperature solder. Silver mix maybe? Just asking.
As others here have said, I'd have attempted to repair that circuit break with solder and bus wire (tinned copper wire) for extra mechanical strength. I've so "stitched" together copper foils on broken circuit boards, with success. Tedious, but it can be done.
Great work, Ray. Sometimes, one has to dive headlong into a problem to learn how to solve it. 😉ðŸ‘ðŸ¼
Good job , like a pro 😊😊😊😊😊
Great job absolutely took the time out. Patience is a virtue.â¤
â˜ï¸ðŸ¤ª It's Alive…
I thought I had seen this video already, but my "Thumbs Up" was not highlighted on it. As I watched, I recognized the trans issue, fast forwarded to the end, and sure enough it was the valve body issue you found – with the printed circuit break. What's going on on YouTube? Are they de-selecting my ratings? Hmm…now I need to figure out a different way of identifying videos I've watched.
good job fella
With efi, vapor lock is far more complicated. I wont say impossible, just not as likely. Because the pump is in the tank, and should be submerged, it has a constant supply of liquid fuel. The problem could be a failed pressure regulator. If it is allowing all of the fuel back to the tank, pressure will not build. Injectors wont function as designed.
If you're troubleshooting the same thing for a week your not a mechanic
Im not sure what to be more frightened by…a automatic transmission failure or the macarena playing in a shop i work at 😛
24:55 🎶HEEEY MACARENA
this was really helpfull man!!! i was like right on the point of thinking…. common ray you're not going to find anything in there…and boom!! there it is!…this reminds me to ALWAYS keep looking!
maybe that dent on the outside did the damage afterall……..not? i mean why else would a connection break like that soo deep into the transmission?…and it's precisely where the dent is at it's deepest……
You are a monster.
Your skill and ability in troubleshooting are unbelievable.
Many, many compliments.
Thanks with the auto trans education…..had no idea what is inside the buzz box. ðŸ‘
a plethora of passages for percolation of petroleum.
Hopefully Nissan sees this. I used to own one once upon a time
I have literally grown into a the mechanic i am today and continue to grow and learn all because of your videos amd what you teach. I use everything you show in your videos. Thank you so much for creating your videos. And being new to flat rate you have saved me so much time and your diagnostics I have used a lot as well. It makes me look look much better and more professional than i probably am. Again thank you so much for video's!!
I learned I confirmed I don't ever want to work on an automatic transmission.
99/100 shops would have condemned the transmission. You are one of the very few good mechanics out there willing to take the extra time to fully diagnose issues instead of throwing parts at a vehicle. I would much rather spend the extra money on diagnosing labor rather than waste money on throwing parts at my car hoping it fixes the issue without knowing what the culprit was. No one learns anything that way. Now when the same issue pops up for someone else they know where to look and there’s a solid chance (not 100% obviously) that they may have the same problem with the same make of vehicle. Good work ethic pays off both financially and morally.
If someone has decent soldering skills…. That could be resoldered
Wow Ray Ray 👠good job for finding what might be the smoken gun. I would of never new where that part would be located at. Thank you Ray I am learning so much from your videos
Use some gloves to protect you skin mate
Toyo are another reliable car
American ars ALWAYS problems
Nissans are outstanding vehicles, ALWAYS owned em and never had problems with em
Good job homieðŸ‘
New filter, push the pan out, clean and try it. The pan might restrict fluid flow.
133,000 miles with a replacement engine and trans valve body. This shouldn’t happen on a Frontier with so few miles.
Fair play Ray well done many would look at a fault in an automobile and just install a exchange transmission good work always pays off when the mechanic has experience best wishes from Ireland cheers Declan 👠hope all is well
Only a sith, you say?
Sounds like an absolute to me…
Now Ray, You know that all AT's have shiny in them. Tranny shops will show a customer that & say Yep it's shot need a new one. Aa
mco was bad about it. Now a boat load of shiny {clutch material} is bad.
