  1. Nice and informative videos, but 3 things come to mind:
    1. Torquing nuts and bolts,
    2. Thread lock on safety related bolts
    3. And wire brushing the hub surfaces before fitting new brake rotors.

  2. When you have a nut like that on the rear shock that doesn't want to turn, you might try using a nut splitter. I haven't used one for years myself but I worked on motorcycles for years and every once in awhile the nut splitter did the job. Just a thought. Love the videos

  3. EVEN THOUGH I CALL YOU THE ONE HAND MECHANIC, THE VIEWER FAILED TO MENTION YOU TAKE THE TIME TO EXPLAIN IN DETAIL OF WHAT`S HAPPENING NEXT. INCIDENTLY ,i WOULD DEFFINATELY FEEL SECURE IF YOU WERE REPAIRING MY VEHICLE

  4. Dude, enjoy your videos because being out of the scene for a while reminds me of what needs(instructions to be done when servicing vehicles, keep doing how you do your videos your way. They help me

  5. This is not a criticism, but an observation as I've never worked on a Tundra before. If the sway bar end link was disconnected wouldn't that allow the lower control arm to drop a bit more to fit the strut in? That was required on some vehicles I've worked on.

  6. Ray I really enjoy your videos, you do you. Keep doing what is working for you. Sometimes people don't think of how much work goes into editing videos prior to us seeing them.

  7. Do you ever YouTube how to do some of this stuff? Looks like you can just remove a few bolts to get it out of the way. Btw spring compressors scare me

  8. You should have taken the nut out for that top wishbone, pushed it up, and then you would have more control over the downforce. The second thing is that you didn't disconnect the sway bar. When I did this on my own 1995 Lexus, I found it easier to disconnect the bottom wishbone, control arm. Drop that out, put it back in with a floor jack, and put compression on it.

  9. Modify that rusted out compressor you would have to trim off some off the thread to make a spring compressor be useful with that strut tower the time it took to install one strut if you were properly set up for this job your time spent on one strut both should have been in place

  10. These morons that have an issue with how someone makes a video need to get off their butt and go make their own! Then they can deal with the adult babies that piss and moan about ignorant things!

  11. I stumbled across your site here while searching for info about one of my vehicles, & have become addicted to your videos. I was pretty impressed. Then while watching this one, two thoughts popped into my head: 1 was that part of your problem with the front struts was that you only disconnected the Sway Bar link on the drivers side & not on the passenger side, & 2 why were you not using a spring compressor from the start ? I have been spinning wrenches since the age of 15 & am now just about 70 and still do all my own work (except when I rarely buy a brand new vehicle, because I make the dealers do all the work, except routine things like filters & or brakes, until the warranty expires). I have done complete engine removal- tear down-& rebuilds on them, Although I am not a "certified" mechanic, both my grandfather & uncle were. My immediate family runs 5 vehicles at all times, plus friends family & neighbors still come to me with their vehicles & I usually do their work as well & the only thing I have not done is a tranny rebuild, although I have purchased & swapped factory rebuilt tranys. What I do enjoy most in your videos is that you DO include your little "screw ups" as well as all the little WTF moments that occur unexpectedly! I could not even begin to figure out just how many thousands of dollars I have saved on labor costs over my lifetime, but now as I age it is getting harder & harder to everything on my garage floor using jacks & jack stands, & to this day I still tell my wife I am going to tear out the three bedrooms over the garage & put in a lift!

  12. Wandered across your channel, love the real world mechanical experience. Shi$ happenes and to edit that out is like facebook fake lives. Keep it up. Nice job.

  13. Hey Ray noticed in the first video did you didn’t check the hubs I saw some leakage when You removed the tires and the rotors where the hubs are at just a heads up otherwise that excellent video doesn’t matter the time you take that’s what you’re doing it for yourself and your viewers great job again keep it up👍

  14. Hello! I'm new to the channel, watched a few videos today and a few yesterday, I'm enjoying the content so far, but the whole time you were trying to put that pad in i was going, The piston is in your way causing the pad to catch on the rotor. lol
