In fact, Trump has been talking about a tariff strategy since the late 1980s, when he first tested the presidential waters — and his message back then bore notable similarities to the one that helped propel his winning 2016 campaign.

  1. I think Trump is trying to mirror the oil-rich Arabs countries where their government have a business that generates income that it doesn't need to tax it's own people. Impossible? Look at Saudi, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait where they don't tax their citizens.

  2. I thought the same about Japan when I was in high School 1981-1985. I kept seeing the electronic industry being taken over. I don't blame the outside countries as a whole, the other percentage is OUR FAULT for letting our own government and businesses making money off of us and our country. Making Big $$$, at our COUNTRY' s expense.

  3. You cannot blame the merchant for your credit card bill. 😮 You have a trade deficit because you purchased stuff from China. Chinese never put gun on your head to sell their product. 😮

  4. Mr Gupta I know you guys do not respond to any criticism. But this program is full of factual errors.
    Stopped watching after some time.
Trump has been talking about tariffs, non trade barriers, oil laundering since the 80s, although about diffferent countries like Japan, Kuwait, etc.
These are his ideologies, before he know Navarro even existed.
Do some more research. We belive in your channel. Don't let us down.

  5. If he's so worried about us being laughed at he'd be doing a better job……T$%^& is a piece of shit! T$%^& wants tariffs to line his own pockets and piss away more money on his own agenda at the price of American citizens…..

  6. I don't know about tariffs only what it reported that's tariffs is a tax and how Trump put in this tariffs America people is charge for the tariffs and I think he know that is the reason for tariffs not about trade or bringing jobs the Trump's tax bill

  7. 100 billion to happen yearly japan 200 billion China yall history repeating BRICS WHAT TRUMP IS DOING IN 2025 will never work out it’s war

  8. Donald Trump screwed a small town in Scotland over in order to build a golf club that nobody wanted and that from my I understand is losing money all the time just another tax write-off

  9. In the late 1980s I was still just a child and my Mother made dinner every night and if I complained she said cook your own then or starve and Trump sounds about as sensible imo. They don't take the jobs Americans don't want to work long hours in sweatshops for low wages if he thinks they do offer those jobs to them tell them to give up union rights and living wages etc. in other words as my Mother would say make it yourself or starve then.

  10. Trump is repeating an error that is only partially factual. America has a trade deficit with China. Its not because of China. America has a consumerism ethic in parts and has about 10 trillion dollars more to spend than even its second place country China. If we spend more on Chinese stuff, Trump is blaming china for what America created. Shifting blame. Worse, its what is expected if America is really the rich country that it is. Rich spend more on everything in excess. Having a trade deficit shows that. Its not China's fault if it supply's America with the excess it wants.
