I went on a sunday ride and came across a garage sale. out front was this busted up Suzuki 80 dirt bike that has seen better days to say the least, l bought it for $150. lets see if it can be rebuilt for cheap money.

holy crap a DS80!!! 1985 model maybe
Couldn’t help but smile when that Suzuki engine fired up. I had a TS 250 that was about that vintage when l was in my 20’s. That oil/gas system worked very well. Great bike lots of fond memories riding that around in the summer.. 😊
Just alil comment love sir

What do you use in your ultra sonic cleaner?
Uj2

Hi Mustie! Thanks for the video! I do appreciate the value and resale advice you gave. However I cringed when you passed soooo many yard sales! Lol!!!
I'm new to the channel and I came for the small engine work and am thrilled that you're also a VW guy!
ds80? i love 2strokes, it was cheaper to get into than the 4's
Looks like that thing was rode to death and fell apart. 30 minutes a week to tighten everything it would have lasted much longer.
Hey is that a lesco lawn mower I see.
No it can't be save
Suzuki's always seem to vapor out quicker when running out of fuel must be head or Reed valve design difference… I learned that on RM 250…
Dude…I look at what you do with these bikes, it's preservation of what we love.. great job
Restore the front wheel clamp if things get slow.
A lot of hard hours on that poor bike
Loved that.
Hey there , just a heads up. Over here in New Zealand we have a lot of alloy boats and have learned a lot over the years. Foam should not be use as it will hold water and also prevent underfloor getting dry. Plywood should not be treated as it will react with the alloy and also absorb water. Alloy will corrode if left wet for long periods.

This was the very first bike I EVER had. Its late 90's DS80 with oil injection….. TRASH TRASH TRASH….. fouled plugs like CRAZY. Didnt matter the jetting. My dad tore out the oil injection system and started mixing my gas like any other 2 stroke and MAN O MAN that bike woke up and ran! Such a better bike….. Overall it was still a pile of shit though, Next bike was a KX100 and it smoked this bike in every single way possible. Still I can recognize one of these from a mile away. I'm 36 now and riding has been my #1 passion in life for my entire life since I had this bike…. This was the bike that started it all for me. 25 years later and I still ride the trails with my dad, I still remember every little thing about this bike…. I will ride till I die. My dad paid $800 for it in Seattle Washington and piece of shit or not that's all it took to light the fire in me for the rest of my life. My dad is about to hit 70 and still has like 3-5 brand new street bikes in rotation at any given time. Its a disease that's passed on…… That's a fact!
I think my first thought would be, did the incontinence issue occur in my car too
Thats a helluva score for $150…..hopefully its all just minor repairs….i learned how to ride clutch on a ‘78 rm 50 similar to that bike
Wrong way
The motor sounds very crisp so all the people saying 20 bucks you are dreaming get out of the late 80s early 90s this is 2023 wake up
do you think putting permanent thread locker on half the bolt for the exhaust would work also? or in time because of the heat the permanent threadlocker would fail?
OMG What a mess. But best way to buy a cheap bike when the person knows nothing and uses a quick fix. I peronably would have offered only $50 just by looking at the outside condition. had the same with a bike I bought. noticed right away he new nothing of fixing or maintaining it, but just neede some TLC and got it for cheap. good video, and made me laugh, thanks
YAY Yellow Dirt Bike, and it run's…
Watching this again a year later, yeah we tried to tell you it was the wrong way 😂
That trail bike honda rear wheel brake setup should fit, pretty sure it's the same setup. Clutch shifter stud should to. That bike looks like smaller lever in motor but??
That hub is complete, just need the bar from hub to frame to lock it down, then connect rear brake hardware. Good to go.
40:1 mix.
Zip ties, why not… now you can put right stuff back on it. Nice little bike.biggesr problems with those is the oil injector pumps. Fouled plugs are common in those bikes.
a screw under the filler for the oil .take it out and top up oil till it comes out
I'd rather watch your videos than any movie!#
I had one Of these when I was a kid. Radest thing I've ever onwed
