  1. Wow, nice job with the loader on the 504! When you started, I thought for sure it was going to take a few tries. But, as I've seen again and again, your tractor and loader skills are way above anyone I've known, and I known some very competent old farmers do stuff I never learned. Props to you!👍

  2. Something to consider. Not sure how much the rear main seal and sleeve installation tool is but could you hire the dealer to come do the install? As for the Pittsburgh'd shaft, you can't make hay with the clutch engaged. HaHa! Tractors have been sold saying that the torque amplifier is bad when 9 out of 10 times it just needs to be properly adjusted.

  3. When changing seals on our log trucks we would put just a little silicone on the outside of the seal before you tap it in, just making sure everything is sealed up. Thanks Pete for showing the helicoil process, been a long time since I used one of those.

  4. That helix coil brought back some memories. In the late 60s I worked at Martin Marietta missile plant and my job was screwing helicoilsinto the second stage guidance system box. Don’t remember exactly how many, but there were several dozen and fishing that broken tang out of the hole was a trick. specs called for a grease like substance to be applied to the heli coil which then made it very difficult to remove. Didn’t work there very long, but it was a great experience. You are very enjoyable to watch work.

  5. Pete, watched this one twice… didn’t show as if we watched it the first go around… but I had truly seen the whole video… hmmm

  6. I've never seen someone Grease bolts to reattach a rim. I imagine this would make them easier to remove the next time, but do they ever come loose like this?

  7. Hi Pete, absolutely love your videos. Without sounding like a knowitall i just want to understand. Isn't more shims on that shaft bearing lead to a looser bearing fit, so wear on your bearings should result in less shims? Am i correct in this assumption?
