I have Starlink internet and have no problem making video calls. So what you are talking about is doing the same using a cell phone antenna. You did not make that clear and seemed to imply that making calls from a boat via satellite is a novel idea, when in reality the novel bit is using an ordinary cell phone.
How about they just fixed regular calling instead of working on BS Star Trek
Smartphone antenna never can send signal to satellite.
