Gracias por el video super buenÃsimo ( superb awesome) muy bueno
Great job ðŸ‘ðŸ‘
what a flimsy POS… I wouldve bench tested the new one just to see… cheap cheap cheap.. another great video
I remember keeping an entire desktop of Chilton manuals 😂😂😂. CD wasn't even invented but we had vinyl records!
Great video
You're doing outstanding job you seem to criticize your own soldering techniques but soldering wires is difficult. A little technique which I have learned from experience is despite the fact that you are using rosin core solder, if you take a toothpick with a little tiny bit of soldering flux influx the wires before soldering you will be amazed how rapidly the shuttle will take and how easily the solder will flow
You're an artisan. It's like watching a Japanese cooking video.
did you fix the motor mount ? I didn't catch it if you did
Is that a pushbike tire on the steering wheel
I loved the sped up DOODLE-EE-DOOS! 🤣😂
Great work on troubleshooting the sending unit. Will help with my 00' Wrangler.
When the tank cover bolts were being removed with one fastening the sender's ground wire eyelet, there appeared to be enough black paint and rust on the bolt to add 50 or so ohms…
I had a 1987 AMC Eagle that had the 4,2 liter engine. This Jeep has the Chrysler 4.0 and is a 1987. The belt set up is different as by 1987 AMC had gone back to V belts because on earlier 4.2 engines they had a single serpentine belt that had to be tightened from the alternator which was at the bottom of the engine. AMC was notorious for awkward designs.
Dude “All~Data†on CDs was back in/from the 1990s!!!: you don’t seem to be that old but that was indeed the good old days!.
Best subscription service (the CD’s) I ever Incorporated into my Auto-service Business.
To borrow a phrase from Ray's toolbox, it hurts my soul to reuse old rusty ground connections without a quick wire brushing. But I feel ashamed even remotely criticizing a true Boss.
Ethanol abuse!
I drive and maintain one of those old YJ Wranglers. Those diagrams are VERY familiar.
Nice welding space helmet tie in with the Apollo 13 comment. When Swigert dock the lunar module he said “Capture†not “captionâ€. BTW thanks for having “closed caption†a an option on your videos.
well you know better ray. Nowhere on the package did it say Made in the USA.
why are you not wearing safety glasess ….
This is pretty common on fuel level sensors for older vehicles, I guess there isnt enough volume to make quality parts or even quality control.
Woah! At 23:07 your right hand scared the carp outta me !
Good job.
Jeeps were known for fuel gages that cease functioning. I had a similar problem on my '92. The fuel would never read below 1/2. As a teenager, I pushed it to a gas station many times.
88 ohms per hour
Love your videos. Had a jeep for 10 years and hated every minute of it. Mainly because the 2.5l and auto combination was utter garbage. Keep up the awesome work.
Get some crimp and seal connectors Eric O uses them all the time.
What happened to the engine mount?
totally satisficed!
Where'd dat rubber go? Where dat rubber meets da road. Ha!Ha!
what happened about the engine mount
spilt $20 …. lol
Nice video title.
We see what you did there.
This brought back memories… You did good work. When I barely had a license, I was fixing and rebuilding jeeps to flip them to fund my youth. I only bought I-6s and always manual. CJ-5, CJ-7, and YJ and 2 J-trucks. I have the entire serious of Jeep Haynes manuals in my basement, I could have sent pics of the wiring diagrams.
Nice!
Great Job on a not so nice design for holding a tank in place. Another satisfied customer.
High speed doodly doo!!🤣
Please do something about that phone tone.Sheesh!
Hope my Dodge Dayton In storage is a Top. Made 3039 of them.
Now you have made a Renix level from a MOPAR.
1987 to 1990 used Renix. Level new sensor unavalible. FIX. Use the newer tank modual. The white nylon curved resistor that is curved. Solder that green wire to the other end of the curved potemptiometer.
Get you an oz bottle of circuit work flux or Amtech flux….circuit works is way cheaper. Keep it and your solder (60/40) in refrigerator when not in use. Soak that twisted wire with the flux and it will amaze you how quick the solder is absorbed into the twisted wire.
Jeep life bro… does that jeep have a salt life sticker?
This is one of my favorites so far. Goes far beyond pull and replace, which is the large majority of mechanics. This video is the kind of stuff I do at home to fix issues because things are insanely expensive to replace everything everytime when a workaround is available! Well done!
I once had a Citroen BX giti that ran to rich to pass it’s mot test (Uk) it was a sticky wicket and had had the fuel sender replaced as the tank was a tight fit they had fitted longer hoses and trapped the return hose stopping the fuel pressure regulator working giving a crazy fuel injection pressure.
Lots of cheap Jeep parts out there, never know what your getting. I’m surprised someone hasn’t cut an access panel to get to that fuel sending unit. Anyway good job and I like that soldering iron from Milwaukee.
As an ex-Ferd tech back in the day we had a full on LIBRARY of massive 3 ring binders … per year / model / system of each vehicle spanning 15 years. All others were on … gasp MICROFICHE lol
did that wrangler have an engine swap? cause they 87 wranglers didnt have a 4.0. they had either diesel or 4.2.
the wagoneer had a 4.0 so I'd imagine it wouldn't be to much of a hassle to figure it out unless it was diesel before
You really should’ve checked to make sure the new one was good before transferring all those parts. Because it would really suck if the new part was bad as well and you had to do it again for the second time.
