What Went Wrong with my 1200HP 2JZ – Detailed Teardown

An incredibly important part of the off-season is tearing apart things – even ones that worked – to inspect and learn how to improve and make the drift program even better! I was lucky enough to have Jay Meager of @RS_Garage_US help educated through the process! Every $5 spent on http://LZMFG.com http://drifthq.com or http://simhq.com gets you entered for a chance to win my evo!

  1. I've heard about some kind of nickle coating used on metal to metal contact parts.

It adds extreme lubricity and anti-wear properties.

Is that something that you could do here with the cams & buckets?

  2. my rod broke in 4 pieces all are visibley bend and the bearings are all fine rod is nice colour well i made 950nm on 5cylinders and it wasnt happy about it at 3200rpm just left the chat

  3. This is epic to have someone so knowledge based to talk about the operation of engines and seeing what can be a simple thing to what can be a major.
