  1. an older man told me in a similar situation, my wife and i were “discussing” a difference, he said to me: always lose the little battles, you will need every bit of energy for the tough ones:)

  2. Reminds me the first job I had back in 1985 when I graduated weighted high school I went to work for a shop and I was doing all that that you’re doing now I quit there working for the North Carolina Department of transportation as a mechanic and retired there

  3. You left us hanging…how did test run turn out? I've had same car for over 20 years and thought I knew it intimately. Always very depedable. Then, a couple years ago a miss developed. Wires pass ohms test. New injectors. Compression in all cylinders good. New plugs. Cap and rotor came with new "optics" distributor anout 5 yrs ago. Runs great and really pulls hard at open throttle but feels like pulses at 35-40 mph cruise. Fuel pressure reg new and checks out…fuel pressure good. Suspect vacuum leak but cannot find. Spraying carb spray (or MAP gas) trying to detect vacuum leak doesn't detect any difference in engine speed. Often stalls at stops, or sometimes even just rolling at 30;mph or so.

Would really like to know what the results of your test drive were.

    Thanks!

  4. Obviously this young man has never worked on an old school caddy!! hopefully now next time he knows😮 hopefully the rest of the modern cars he can fix obviously he has a shop so I think he knows what he's doing, but I think that car might be even older than him, 35 years old that Cadillac is but we'll see😓

  5. I've been working on these 4.5, 4.9 Cadillac motors for years, the easiest way to get that wire through that bracket, I found is to lubricate it either with Vaseline or any kind of lubricant, even motor oil on the outside, it'll slide right through even with your fingers because sometimes if you pull it with the pliers or needle nose, it might yank it from the clip inside Don't ask me how I know ☺️ heads up, next time you do one of these..

  6. It's nice to see someone trouble shoot a car without plugging in to the OBD 2 PORT. That one had on board diag capabilities. Just a little different. Oh coming from family from Oklahoma I kind of agree with you on pronunciation… It's surrp.
