If the compression is good…all you got to do is ckean the points and carb and if its running good…that a $375 motor all day long!! 🙄!! I hate outboard uneducated people!!
We had a sign company here in Louisville Kentucky that made vinyl billboards for the huge signs along the interstate and they would almost give you the old vinyl when they took them down and replaced the ad for either another company or for age reasons, but they work great for covering things up. I did have a friend that worked for Nagele sign company but he has since retired so that dried up that source. you could try the local billboard companies. Incidentally, I had a friend to bring me the blue canvas from the awnings at the restaurants at Churchill Downs here in Louisville Kentucky! They’re not super big but the history is pretty cool. Years ago I got two 8.25×20 tires that I put on the front of my old single axle Dodge dump truck and the history on the tires were they came off of the gate at Churchill Downs that they roll back when they start the races! They had red paint dots on them where I guess the gate had been painted or the posts or something, but still had the nubs all over the tires! How cool was that!? They had tiny amounts of whether checking but not enough to worry about. I ran them until they were bald! Ha ha!

I don't think you will see this but, we buy vinyl billboard signs from the sign guy after it's replaced. Just call the number on the structure.
I've got a fastwin 18hp, these engines were made for about 30 years with no change apart from the cowling
I know when I drove flat bed years ago we would get the tarps from buffalo NY.
I thought I was a WHEELER DEALER. You might have me beat Mustie. Good pick up ðŸ‘

As far as a good Tarp, You can contact some of the sign company's in your area to see if they have any old sign banners from bill boards that are being removed. That material is very strong and thick.
If your interested in selling the pressurized boat tank I might be interested I'm restoring a 1956 mastercraft boat
Furniture pads from hobo freight to go over sharp corners and such.
if you can find one buy a semi trailer tarp they last a few years
Watching some old mustie videos to get my dose. Get well soon my friend
Do you still have this outboard I'll buy it from you
As a flatbed semi truck driver, look for a 14oz lumber tarp, in the size you need, likley however, they will be several hundred dollars… You might find a flatbed trucking company that has older ones for less money…
Mustie. I know this comment is late but. Regarding your quest for a quality tarp. You want to find a good sail shop around you. They custom make tarp and other fabric covers for sheds, outdoor sporting facilities and such. A proper made cover by sailmakers will not only last but, be measured to fit properly. Relieving stress points common with a square tarp wrapped around something not square.
Usually under 10hp, with same manufacturer, only difference is with the carb. 🙂 Especially with the older motors.
In my parts a fuel line with fittings is $60, add another $70 for a 20litre tank. I'd say you got a decent deal. Although I'm more partial to the late 70's to mid 80's Johnson and Evi's
Know this is old video but get a water bag cover for an inground pool if you’re still trying to find something there thick and they don’t let light or water through
King of the false ending
40 that is a steel wish outboard were in low demand here as they are there
I had a 7.5 hp Speed twin that OB ran great for a good many years.
The sea foam alone was worth the $5 ! Great find Mustie !
I got an old evinrude from a yard sale a few years back. Paid $100 for that in a pile of stuff. Finally getting to fixing it lol. Just found out it's a 1953 7.5hp figured it would look cool out on the lake
Oh come on… you're looking at 20$ in Seafoam 80 bucks in pulleys alone. Give the woman the 15.
She wasn't tryin to get over on you but you sure got over on her.
Boy… I've been subscribed for about 8 months now, and sure you're cool to watch the sht you do… but now I think different of you.
It's just my opinion of how I feel and I can't help that
Get you a gallon of the white Flex Seal and a small roller and roll out your trailer top…Just did mine that way and no leaks now…
I owned a couple of old evinrudes! Probably the best outboard motors ever built! Evinrude and johnson same motors different name! I dont know who told you they were finicky because they’re not they are very dependable
Signage billboard skins / banners are very heavy duty and often have rope edging or eyelets. They make excellent heavy duty tarps
If you can lay hands on one, the tarpolines used on advertising billboards are super tough.
Tractor supply has thick tarps im in Florida but im sure you can go online
