Ray, I never REEEEE at you, but I gotta say, you're making my butt clench dragging the sealing surface of that head across your metal toolbox…
Definitely ON,!!!!
Main cap bolts are definitely TTY bolts. Also stud bolts on the 2nd pass are 51° torque angle. I just got my new cap bolts today. The refresh of this engine has been a great help. ðŸ‘
I’m trying to do a stroker and bore setup and I heard I can’t get a standard forged crank because the ls4 has a special crank
May I ask where you bought the cam bearings?
You need a brush that goes around what your blasting with the walnuts, that way it’s more adjustable, kind of like a parts washer brush but bigger, just a thought.
I have to agree the noise canceling OFF is much better! That machine is amazing!
Ray
Where’s the brake clean to make it sparkly
Someone told you that you talk too much????? You are the wife in the house????
To make things a little easier while blasting take a clear water bottle and heat shrink it over the vacuum hose and then you will be able to see better on what you are doing. May make things easier
I found Noise cancelling on better
Regarding mic. Loud shop work please use the noise cancelling but general shop work don’t use it as it’s nice to hear the background atmosphere
lol a nice machined head dumped on a metal surface. Just as well Ray knows what he’s doing.
Also dont ever let the head sit on a freshly resurfaced face, itll ruin it
They didnt clean the valves at all, i work at a head repair shop and the first thing we do after we dismantle the head is clean the valves and thats not acceptable
I am not a mechanic but knows just enough to help myself. I could never understand while when Torrington a bolt you have either NM or lb/foot or inches/ lbs. Why do they have to have another torque in degrees?
never use gm bearings they are 2 piece
I see you need a water trap on your air system… we can actually see the moisture blowing through
the sound quality goes down when the noise cancelling is on i perfer to hear you clearly so off is better.
That engine is like a 89 ram Cummins now a million mile engine in a 250 thousand car 😂
Gopro mic is better, in my opinion. I like the sounds of the shop.
Sorry I would have sent them back! No excuse!
Bräkleen Mafia text on tool cart 😂
Noise canceling on.
Depend how loud the noise is. Sometimes some noise is needed as ambient or back ground to make the video more realistic and appeal!
Youtube turned off my notifications from you. WTF? Goofballs!
I noticed no difference in sound regarding "blasting your block with your nuts". 😅
Edit: Also, get a new machine shop. That job was abysmal. You having to clean up their work (or lack thereof) is not ideal.
2 & 4 said 875, 1 & 5 were 874 or was i hearing something else ? having watched a little more of the vid yup i was right LOL.
Noise cancelling on please
Welcome to bidenomices
Reading comments i can't believe how rude people are, a reflection of our sick country.
I hate to bug you on vacation,, but I saw a video short from YouTube using rainnman ray's repairs,,,, yesterday using the footage from your LS engine rebuild video with a different voice is trying to sell the car and engine for 7 grand. But a friend of mine wants to become a mechanic from watching videos from you and sma and I do cars
Machine shops do what you tell them to do. Only tell them to swap springs that's all they're going to do, is you wanted the heads hot tanked you need to tell them & pay for it.
I hear on the right sometimes only and then both when you voice over. Guy
What noise cancelling?
Much respect for your effort here Ray, Ive done it a few times myself with mixed results. That being said Ive assembled quite a few LS motors, and long ago I found that the way to end up with one that has the best longevity is to suck it up and buy a Long Block from ATK or Blueprint and add everything else myself. Ive had motors still run like new 100k until I sold the truck or car they were in..building one from scratch may save some cost, but if it isnt done in a super clean controlled environment by someone who does it all day, they wont go nearly as long as one built in those environments and by people who can do it in their sleep.
At least put it face down on cardboard or cloth, it'll probably be ok but why risk it.
It’s BIDENOMICS IN ACTION……COME ON MAN….its for the common good, just chant “one of us one of us one of us one of us….etc†until you feel better about joining the lowest common denominator club…..pay more…get less it totally makes sense.
Noise canceling seems to work pretty well for me..ðŸ‘ðŸ¼
Wheres your intro dude.
Nice one Ray very good mate ðŸ‘
Noise cancelling on is much better.
Get a more reliable camera Ray 🙂
Why not take the heads outside en blast them without suctioning?
NC On ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘
