built a house in 1999 at the age of 26 AND the permitting Process was horrible bc there was about 12 cat tails on a corner of said lot THAT I bought from the county AS buildable lot/s BUT when I applied for permit the county wanted to buy my lots back….. I think they mistook my age for weakness. But I had jump hoops and pay extra cash for the permit….I still suspect a certain "Supervisor" wanted my lots…. almost took the county of Racine to court bc I would have sold the lots to the county for fair market value (100ish k) that I purchased for $7,500.00 on sealed bid process for non-tax payment. I can't imagine the Rings one must LICK to build in an industrial park in these days. And those cats holding those permits know they hold power and they will make you bark like a dog for giggles. But I can see in my chit town who is friends with who bc they get all their wants approved with minimum effort. Every town has some sort of "Corruption" don't fool yourself.
You should contact a lawyer if they have 30 days and dont give you a permit by 30 days.
