the "cavalry" is here… not the "calvary" !!
there is so much flooding all over, you have to grade your land for
better drainage! there is so much water, how long will it take to be
dry once again {relative to normal FL conditions. } how long were
you w/o power? that makes things miserable when you are on generators
over the grid ! thank you for the up dates and showing the magnitudeÂ
of IAN on your area that you live. it is so good that no one in your familyÂ
was hurt, hope that there homes were OK also.
I know how rough it is living through hurricane i have been thru Irene sandy and ida so I know its a horrible thing to be up through no sleep and keeping up with generators gas And damage not fun
as someone who i am sure is south of you, who is still dealing with Ian (11 days without power, a few days without water too, and two weeks i think or more without internet … the day before it came back reports were "Comcast may get to it after New Years") …. I have to say i know i am addicted to this channel now …. everytime i saw a tree down in the first few days in my best attempt at a "dead-pan" voice i kept saying " 😐 tree gravity"
Should we talk Australian? ~speaking gibberish-
As an Australian, can confirm.
Did you move? I don’t see your shop in the drone footage. I have to admit I missed out on lots of you videos. Been crazy busy being 18 wheeler mechanic at work and on the side since Covid took over.
Your HVAC system looks like a Chevy 4.3 fuel injection spider.
Wow this reminds me 2012 Hurricane Sandy by me North East PA, 3 weeks no power. About 16 trees down right on my property.
You didn't list your drone 😕
apart from all the other comments I need to say, I'm happy you don't try to turn your family into reality tv stars like many other youtubers unfortunately do. keep rolling ray! really enjoy your content and greetings from germany!
The drone footage adds a whole different perspective Ray, also a great way to examine/inspect your property without splashing about in floodwater.
I would suggest some portable solar panels in your shed or other hurricane-resistant location so that when it's bright and sunny you can lay them out and ease the load on your generator/alternator or even go without them entirely for a few hours.
What is the name of the epic-sounding music that starts at +12:01? Really fitting survival theme. Sounds like maybe something written by Hans Zimmer.
I am a snowbird. Bradenton and Sarasota Bay in the winter. What city is your shop in.
Did you drive your Chevy to the levy?
Ray, having lived through Hurricane Michael in Panama City I can appreciate what you are dealing with. My advice take lots of of pictures of everything; damaged or not, I found this valuable when it came to file and insurance claim.
Kids are the smart ones in your family -"can we live in Australia dad" , very wise.
Take a break and have a week off.
Ray, my husband's been a subscriber for awhile so I've grown used to hearing your voice and doo-doo-doo-doo-doo's over the past year or so. But these hurricane prep videos and following how the hurricane affected you and your family made me a subscriber as well and soon I was the one notifying him "Ray's got a new hurricane video update!" We followed closely to make sure you were hanging in there and I'm so glad you were able to update us as the storm progressed… but even more glad there wasn't any catastrophic damage to your home. It's got to be hard seeing all the damage at places you know and love so well, though. That stress will be tiring and stay with you a little while. Stay safe and thanks again.
"Can we talk Australian?" "AVOOzooMIZZwah!" Sounds Aussie to me.
Good luck god bless from Pittsburgh!
Those are sure beautiful blue skies compared to just a few days ago.
Glad you and your family got through Ian healthy. I live in Northern California. You have nasty storms we have fires. Glad you guys are ok.
Thanks!
Looking at that drone footage, are you sure that hurricane didn't pick you up like Dorothy and drop you in Louisiana? Looks a bit marshy!
Ray, at 5:10 that is quite a knothole. I would recommend that you reinforce that too. Knots like that can make for a weak spot. It is great to see your source of income survive. I hope that flooding upriver does not affect you later. It is a good thing that you live inland where you were spared the storm surge.
Australia watching, thanks for your update. We also have our share of tropical storms. Cheers
God bless you and your family Ray, you are part of MAGA. You represent the heart and soul of the country.
I am not liking those big knots in the roof trusses
Louisiana sends our love and prayers. We’re thankful y’all are ok.
Glad your safe, why not just get a diesel generator ?
Wow, that drone footage. You can hardly call it land. And this is coming from someone in the Netherlands (one third below sea level)….
Check out an item called a Redi-line motor generator..
Hey Ray, what happend to your shop/barn/garage? It's not there anymore?
Thanks for the update. I am SO VERY HAPPY everyone around you seems to be OK.
Did the chickens make it ok?
I am so glad you made it through! It is called STRESS! That is why you feel tired even after sleeping! It will take time to relax!
Those are called plywood clips
stay safe with your family. prayers for Florida.
Well, I guess we now know why so many vehicles you work on have so much rust on the under carriage. I was initially wondering if it was folks from the north moving down with their cars and trucks hitting the salted roads of winter.
