In this video I have a look at a 2008 GMC Envoy that was dropped off from another shop with a customer complaint of poor running, no acceleration, service engine soon light on, reduced power light and many more. Evidently this happened after car sat for about a month. -Enjoy!

Mr. Eric OGC truck stands for government motor corporation
Love your videos your an excellent teacher have learned a lot watching your learned a lot using my scan tool watching you thank you
I don't know Eric I've been using those damn connectors for as long as I can remember and everything from the dump trucks heavy equipment to the cars and the damn boat to the marina I can't recall ever having a single problem I think it was an intelligent statement mentioning the use of the crimpers I guarantee you most don't think about it
I work for one of the oldest yacht manufacturers in the country and we use hundreds of these a week. I have been doing this for 25 years and as long as you look at your crimps and pull test before shrinking they are perfectly fine.
Love your work and your overall skill set, knowledge and most of all patience dealing with the intricacies involved with your profession. Hunt for Red October happens to be one of my favorite movies and Sean Connery was being hunted as he was in the “Red October “ lol. 😢
Tell them piss off 😂
I'm about to throw up but i think its my coffee ☕ï¸.
Crimp and seal are fine if you have a good crimper, the new heat solder type are perhaps better
Over $2500 in repairs and diagnostics later I watched the video was able to explain to the mechanic and show the video boom problem solved
33 years aircraft integrated systems technician on military aircraft.Environmental spices can work just about anywhere. If I can put it on a flight control computer to make the airplane fly, you can put it on the PCM to make the car start.
Gotta Mechanic coming
Awesome job!
Your the best

I would have done the same thing most people are shade tree mechanic so if it works for you do it
Just wanted to put this out there recently. Not too long ago and my '08 Silverado with over 200,000 my trusted auto repair place that has been there for ages and the owner is still turning. Wrenches at the age of 79 is being managed by younger guys trying to promote business parking pawl and shifting cable. We're having a problem with the tranny. I lost reverse and there was a clicking sound while backing up and it got stuck in park a couple times the new guy diagnosed. The problem is I need a new transmission. He could hook me up for $4,000 with a reman.
He came to this conclusion after installing a shifting cable and supposedly pulling the tranny pan, changing the filter and fluid, and looking at the inside shifting mechanism as a suggestion of the old timer whose name is on the sign.
I told him I probably wouldn't do that seeing that the truck has rust and mileage but asked if it was drivable in the condition it was when I brought it in. Possibly even better with the new fluid and filter. He says yes you can pick it up. Here's the bill $1,400.
I paid him and walked back to the shop not being able to drive two vehicles at the same time. It's only about 4 MI the next morning Saturday with no one around. Got in the vehicle and had no drive. No third gear, no second and no first and no reverse. This is after above said work and being told that I could pick up the truck and drive home.
I crawled underneath adjusted the shifting cable. Got it. Shifting to some respectable means so that I had drive 3rd and 2nd drove it home fine-tune the shifting several times during the next week then brought it to a transmission shop. This guy is really good. Runs a small little shop. People come from all over
To have them build their trannies. just like along the lines of South Main Auto, he put a new parking pawl in it for me. Checked all the fluids throughout differential transfer case. Looked at everything underneath. Adjusted the shifting cable again. His bill was $500.
To me, his bill was well worth the money.
Seems as though my trusted shop that originally brought it to was setting me up for the big buck $4,000 Reman transmission.
And ironically and coincidentally was speaking with my neighbor across the street and the young lady told me she had just brought her car to the same shop and they wanted to put a new transmission in it so she had a backyard shade tree mechanic do the repair for under $700 such a shame the old-timer is a walking legend, in the auto repair and stock car world here in Berkshire county times change and you always have to be on guard of being taken.
Thank you for being who you are. Eric, love your videos. Wish I lived nearby. You would be my go-to guy.

Auto Detective… Fine work… Thank you for the video… As always no BS
Eric O the great sniffed out the problem. Awesome job! Thanks
A dinosaur like that will be in the scrap yard long before your crimp connector repair ever fails.
There is nothing wrong with a properly used quality crimp.
Eric's crimps are fine… don't be hatein'
I will never complain when my mechanic charges for diagnostics. Love the channel
I would love to have you look at my 2008 Silverado 2500HD with 390,000 on the 6.0. Not because it’s broken but because it’s not…. Maybe.
The style of connection is Not nearly as important as the fact that the repair was accomplished and works well.
Because, working is working.
And
Broken is Broken!
Working beats Broken!
Running beats walking.
I am a ASE master tech. I don't see anything wrong with that wiring repair. After all I tell people that the auto factories crimp.
3 years ago…my Acadia went to the shop with a similar problem. Sat in the garage…started it up with "reduced power" light…and money light on ….Dealer said it had a "faulty fuel pressure switch"….in it when they scanned it…then told me after they opened it up, that a mouse had got into it, and chewed the wiring under the intake manifold. After they charged me $600 for repairing the "faulty fuel pressure switch" which is still sitting on my kitchen counter (Y'all know it wasn't the problem already!!!)…Then turned around and charged me $800 to fix the wiring harness that was chewed….(They didn't re-assemble it after the fuel pressure switch was fixed and then tore it down again…they had it opened up and just plain reamed me for the second repair……) When I paid the young lady at the business desk…I made her stand there and sweat while I read every last word of the bill. I never said a word….wrote her a check, and then decided I would never buy another car from that dealership again…..Those folks at dealerships need to be reminded, without a customer, you don't keep the lights on.
Eric you absolutely do not need to feel bad for using electrical butt connectors. Anyone who has tried to earn a paycheck understands and would do the same, IMPO (in my professional opinion)
wtf a commercial every 2 mins
Wow that was good
14:46 "…you naughty little PCM…"
Classic Farley…it's why we luv ya man!! You help us laugh…
Well done.
If that arm chaire mechanic hates your work then why does he waste his time watching ? Some people huh.i am a A.S.E Master auto tech.for over forty plus years.and a retired shop owner.i feel your pain. I closed my shop ten years ago, and istill get my old customers calling me for help ! Thats because there are just not a lot of Honest shops any longer.
Also stands for Garage mechanics companion ! Or Got a Mechanic coming ! Lol
U rock brother. ! Thanks again. Still learning here
I have noticed my 👃
Lmao 🤣
That ECU mount allows the ECU to vibrate wildly likely causing the wear to the wires from the poly loom. Bad design.
An engine bay (hot) is no place for cheap wires.
Remember… the folks who complain about you and your repairs are usually not engineers.
Great troubleshooting.
âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸
People don't know how much it cost & labor to run a wire cluster ? Guess if they want to pay for it for sumbody they'd prob change their tune !! Lmao mental illness at its best !!
Crimping is fine. I work in a GM dealership and almost every repair kit comes with crimp terminals and heat shrink. Although 90 percent of the time I still solder and heat shrink😂
Wow thank you so much for this video I'm experiencing the same thing with my 06 Envoy it's doing the same thing as the one in this video it's gonna help me bunch I know now where to start looking I was thinking it was throttle body or the gas pedal I'm gonna take a look at the wires tomorrow when I get thanks man
What issues did the car have
Eric dose good work even though he is not a car guy I think he just enjoys fixing things and cars need a lot of fixing.
Gmc. Gay man's Chevy 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I think you forgot about that melted speed sensor wire on the exhaust.
