In this video I bring you along as I have a look at a customers Chrysler 200 that has an issue over heating. It sure seemed to have the classic head gasket symptoms but we still had to prove it. Ends up the head gasket is nuked and the car also has another issue the customer neglected to tell us…. it quits at random times 😐. Yeah…. that would have been nice to know.
-Enjoy!

  1. I own a 3.6 and enjoyed your video. Some key points that should be observed. Water boils at 212° unless it’s under pressure , that’s why cooling systems are pressurized. When water boils it gives off carbon dioxide.

  2. Dude, that was a gnarly rollercoaster.. to be honest I thought it was a plugged up radiator. Thanks for all that you give.. I work on all my own stuff, I’am 63 and been doing my own brakes my whole life, didn’t know anything about having to make sure the slide pins had adequate lube.. let’s just say that explains why my pads always wore to the side.. but not anymore.. thank you for educating those of us that do work on our vehicles.. stopped by Auto Zone this am, and got to exchange my front pads on a 93 Geo metro for a free replacement..

  3. I have a 2015 Chrysler 200s it has 200,000 miles ive changed the alternator and temperature sensor gauge o2 sensor and now the starter but now cant start justhums but all the lights and gauges work except the u connect screen won't turn on can anyone please let me know how to fix when I am on a 630$$ a month Budget andit overheats fast

  4. The Chrysler 200 is a good car. I have a 2012 200 sport with 260k miles. Other than a waterpump, belts and hoses and struts i have not done anything major. Add a antifreeze coolant filter and use moly oil additive for cam and valvetrain protection.

  5. I know this is a couple years ago, and I'm still at the beginning of the video, but all I hear is the rocker arm tick on this 3.6L. I don't know what the outcome is gonna be but this baby ain't long for this world.

  6. If someone did one google search they would not buy a 3.6 pentastar . Maybe one in ten will learn from their obtuse decision…

It’s not the dealers fault the person is a fool.

  7. Everything's closing, before the hardware store closed in the small town 50mi West of you he said your trying to make money from people that don't have any ! WNY so great and so bad

  8. aftermarket overflow was give away as a cert chry tech those plastic overflows are first victom of the heagaskt. they melt rightoff chances are new tank new coolant and lots of stop leak. the eng in gen by the noise and other problems has had a life of just put gas in it and go when it dont go dump it get another. a sucker born every min stay away from those come and go car lots

  9. These start leaking from the seal between the plastic thermostat housing and the aluminum cooling block. The heat makes the gasket seal warp and ultimately fail. Who would think to look there?

Ive also read to change the 5v or 5amp fuse for the fans.

  10. Me encanto el video…..tengo un chryslar 2014 q se apaca corriendo vivo en puerto rico y aca no hay mecanico asi como usted y no se q hacer e gastado mucho dinero en el carro y sigue igual

  11. Life choices? Well, write a song. “The Car Mechanic Blues” or “My Woman Done Left Me But I’m Still Fixin’ Cars.” Am I close? I know your situation. Life choices.
