The Farmall F20 Raking! The Farmall 856 Baling!

Today I’m raking hay with the Farmall F20 tractor and New Holland 258 rake. Then it’s time to bale with the Farmall 856 tractor and the Gehl 1860 round baler. And finally, remove bales from the field with the Farmall 504 tractor.

  1. Hi everyone, I will be at the Half Century of Progress show in Rantoul, Illinois on August 24, 25, and 26. We do not have a booth, but I plan on having some meetups there for a few hours each day. I won't know where to have the meetups until I get there and find a good place for them, so I will post times and locations after I get there. Sunday's video will have more information.

  2. I was 7 in 1954. My Grandfather had a side delivery rake and a bailer. We had a dump rake, flat bed hay trailer and hay loader. That summer I drove our 8N tractor pulling everything. Dad stood on the trailer, put down a sling, spread the hay on it until there was the right amount to sling it into the barn. He would add slings one layer at a time until the hay was what he wanted. We would then pull up to the end of the barn. Dad would disconnect the trailer, drive the tractor to the other end of the barn. Hook up to something, pull one sling load of hay at a time up to a rail that ran the length of the barn. It would go up, click and ride along the rail and he would pull a rope to drop it when it was where he wanted it in the mow.

  3. Growing up my Dad had a hand crank to start tractor…..I think it was a F12…not sure tho. We used that tractor not to farm with but to use the pulley on it to run a buzz saw to cut firewood for the house. Lots of good memories!

  4. Pete, love watching you tune all the old Farmalls that you yourself have restored, that must be so rewarding to you every time you get on one of those pieces of history, that you tore these things apart and reassembled every nut and bolt, every internal working part of the engine, and can diagnose and repair anything on each tractor. I am in awe of your skill, your kind manner in which you describe what every part and it's function on each tractor. I had an Uncle that restored 2 antique aircraft from the ground up, engine and all. Flew them from western Md. To Osh Kosk Wisconsin and took the grand prize in both aircraft. He has since passed many years ago, but in Hammondsport N.Y. pretty close to you, his picture is on a plaque on the wall at the Glen Curtis museum as being recognized as being a master Mechanic for those old OX-5 ,radial engines that powered those old planes back in the day. I'm sure you have been to it, there is so much history there. You could spend the e tire day there. Anyway you and my parents uncle were cut from the same cloth. So Pete hope you have a wonderful father's day with your family. Hope to meet you at the farmers market this summer, God bless.

  5. Hi there Pete i saw one of your earlier episodes where all thekids are present i see that you are the dominent gene in your kids over hillarie i see that you sired only 3 calves so arethey sending you to the butcher soon as your siring days are done😂😅

  6. Howdy Pete. I'm a fellow small farm member on the side, meanwhile I am a software engineer at the age of 55. Considering retirement on the farm. I enjoy your videos. Gives me a few moments to wind down each day. I Just bought your book. If your writing is anything like your videos, the book will be great. I also want to thank you. I purchased the book "Farmall Century" at your recommendation. Amazing history. Love it. with names like The Rockafeller's, Abraham Lincoln, and JPMorgan Chase.. Wow, it is good. Not just a picture book.

Wish you and the family the best.
