  1. Sadly, Jackie Stanley passed away on June 3, 2025 at age 70. (R.I.P. Jackie)
Then Bill Moyers (PBS Correspondent of this documentary) passed away on June 25 at age 91. Coincidentally, he'd won an won an Emmy Award for this very documentary, the same day as his death was announced. (R.I.P. Bill; thank you for your great journalistic/investigative work over the decades).

  2. I heard the SECRET to making your life infinitely better is to check this youtube channel and click a certain button that starts with an 'S' and ends with 'cribe'… just saying, it's worth a shot, right

  3. I came to know Christ in jail in 2013 by reading a book, "Overcoming spiritual bliIndness" by James P. Gills MD. The veil was taken off my eyes. Heaven came through for me in my finances too, getting FIFTY THOUSANDS DOLLAR in 2months . I can support God's work and give back to my community. God is absolutely more than enough!

  4. Oh wow! Look at PBS pretending like they care or ever cared. Funny how now they act like this economic catastrophe was just noticed. Oh my gosh, does the promotion of this documentary have anything to do with the current political environment? Oh golly gee whiz, I don't know?!?!? 🤡

  5. I'm looking forward too this! I was 10 years old in 1991. Little to no internet, if so dial up. The Simpsons premiered in 1989, the Christmas Episode at the race track where the get "Santa's Little Helper" their dog. FRONTLINE IS #1 IN MY BOOK!👍🏻🇺🇲

  6. I am so glad they’re doing an update on these families. I seen it years ago and always wondered what happened with them. I can’t wait to see this.

  7. I'm glad that Frontline is following up on these two families. Very interested to see where both families are now and how they're doing. It's absolutely amazing. In 1991, I was a freshman in high school, now, I'm in my late 40s, married and divorced twice and three kids, all in their teens. It's really something to deeply consider and think about.

  8. I just watched the original doc. So incredibly relatable. Looking forward to see how the two families are doing. Stay strong everyone ❤️‍🩹

  9. NO WAY!!!! This is my second favorite documentary of all time (after LA92). I was born upper middle class in 1997 New York, and I didn't know about the Rust Belt until the Trump reckoning in 2016. This documentary is by far the best illustration of what globalization meant for half the country.

  10. Can't wait for this one. The series really captures the dark side of the deindustrialization and hyperfinancialization of the American economy. Very destructive

  11. This is a very important documentation of recent history. It shows how fragile the system is and how important democracy is and how dangerous the times are right now for normal Americans and also normal citizens in other countries. I will definitely watch it and can recommend the older versions of it to everyone.
