  1. Don’t bother it kicks out all the time and you have to watch an ad every time you want to view the camera. Unless you buy their storage plan. DO NOT BUY!!!!

  2. rtsp cameras aren't a couple hundred dollars and up though. even 3 years ago when this video was made. most of the cheap chinese ptz ip cameras from amazon do rtsp out of the box.

  3. Hello
Thank you for your interesting tutorial
    My Xiaomi camera AP model
YI 1080p Dome is blocked by ISP.
    I want videos in
The memory card can be saved and I can view them through the internal network (without the need for the Internet).
Currently, my wireless connection to the camera is disconnected.
Can I use only the free part of this project?
The second question is how to restore the original firmware to the camera

  4. Hello Chris, thank you so much with your video. Very clear to follow it up. However I got stuck in one area and before I start changing the firmware I wanted to resolve one item that I tried and could not get pass. When would I be able to see the YI Hack web page ????
that is after I load the right firmware ??? Can you confirm that ?? I was trying to get to the camera adding in the chrome browser the Camera IP address …. that access is part of the firmware change, and once I reboot the camera, I will be able to see the camera ????

  5. I bought a $20 Yi IOT camera, which works with Alexa Echo. Its called Keyke. But I do not want to use it with Alexa. Does this mod work to make the camera RTSP capable>

  6. How does TheCrypt0 justify "mandatory donations"? Is there an option to get RTSP working without a license?

Having donations is fine. However the justification of having a license in place so that no one rips them off and steal or their hard work is a fallacy. What about Xiaomi? Shouldn't they get a percentage of these "donations"? Why is this team ripping them off? Not sure if its illegal but it certainly is immoral

These hacks are supposed to be for the benefit of the community. Donations should come out of gratitude from the community, not enforced by licenses. If you want licenses, why not go the extra mile and design your own camera and sell it? I do not support their business model and surely support anyone who forks the code without the license.

  7. Lots of great questions but not any answers. Many stating that this doesn't work. Anybody get to work? Anyone that was having trouble get theirs to work? Thanks

  8. I have searched for the discord channel and cannot locate it, what is the discord link? The crypto guy never answers anything either, i am stuck without the rtsp zip file. Or is it a 6 buck donation for nothing?

  9. Do you need 1x license per camera? As in, do I have to get an individual link from the Discord form for all 5x of my cameras? I don't mind the donations, just would rather a neat way to do all cameras at once.

  10. Hi Chris,
i love this video on yi home camera! i'm just wondering do you know any ways to make the yi home desktop app (stop it from pausing every 30minutes)? i searched all over the web and reddit and yihome official forum but i cant find any solutions! Thanks in advanced. much love

  11. I did this with a new version of this. When i look at the IP for the camera in my router the name is Yi-Hack so I assume it worked. But when I put the IP address in my browser it doesn't work. Any tips on what I might be doing wrong?
I haven't done anything like this in a long time so I probably did somethin simple wrong.
