Condo lots of Bondo😂
This was so interesting! Did you ever do a video on the seat replacement? And are you a motorcycle mechanic? (You seem very knowledgeable).
hi!! great video!! thank you for it. my brother in law had the exact same bike. it was a ct1 though. i cant remember what year that would be though so ive been trying to find foam for the seat of my 1972 f5 350. ive searched hi and low for it and cant find anybody making the cushion foam for my seat.. i see you were able to find it for your seat. could you please tell me where you bought the foam for the seat? im praying they make it for my bike too. id even use what you bought if they dont make it for my bike.. thank you sir cheers… everett
that's it, I'm doing my fork seals on my DT175 1990
Those 175’s were fun bikes.
Hi Mustie, Great videos on this rebuild! I am mixing the gas on my 72 ct1 175. I am at 32:1 currently but only have a few miles on first tank doing my own mixing. bike has 6k miles. Do you think this mix ratio is ok?
You are there do the seals
Great video Mr.Mustie1. Isopropanol alcohol will soften up the hot melt glue, i use it for removing phone batteries that are stuck down with glue.
Back in the 70's I was told to use fish oil. Very light oil, not sure of the weight.
My guess is the woman intending to learn sustained permanent damage and or died in her attempt thus causing the owners to loose faith in the machine, which she should have not been turned loose on at all. Big mistake. I have seen older riders crashing out on a new machine after not riding for a long time.
Do you still have this bike?
I found a tank just like that on ebay just yesterday that looks just like that…check it out
Thanks Mustie, just working on a ty 175 yamy forks and could not remember the damper layout LOL, Oh then I couldnt remember where the vid was filed that showed it , looks like the DT is the same layout. Getting old is stupid cant remember sh!t!
Thanks Mustie1. I watch your videos while my wife watches Married At First Sight….hate that crap.
Try putting air in the tank
Couldn't you have drilled holes and used a dent puller then welded over screw holes? Just a thought.
Great video as always. This was a big help for my 1972 lt2 100. I'm the second owner, my great uncle (rip) bought it brand new.
Inflatable air bag for popping out dents in the tank
19:26 How many faces can you make in 5 sec.. lol
Just found your channel and I think this is going to be really useful to me as I am just starting to restore my DT250A, which is ever so similar to your DT175. I now need to find the other videos in this set and watch these through! ðŸ‘
Hi mustie I know this doesn't have anything to do with this video but what happened to the lambo project you bought
Mustie you did real good on the front end !!! I enjoy watching you in your shop I just ordered 5 of those Zoom bottles
Mustie1 I have watched most of your videos I have to say I keep getting more and more impressed.. I dont think ther eis anything you cant do.. I was raised this way as well but have gotten away from it but finding myself getting back into it…..
What lift do you have there?
How much can I offer for one of this
when it fights you a little heat always gives you the upper hand
Dear, Mustie1, no part 4?? I'm so disappointed. Awww.

Any reason why you didn't reapply a clearcoat to protect the aluminum where you removed clearcoat? That aluminum won't look good for long without some clearcoat to protect it.
Hell, I would just Bondo it myself.
MUSTIE, YOUR THE MASTER OF "TENDER LOVING FORCE"
its in the hole!!!
No part 4 ?
My first motorcycle was a great old 1966 Honda 160. The most dependable wonderful old motorcycle which was impossible to kill. In the fall, I’d just stop using it and let it sit with no winterizing and in the Spring, I’d take it up to a long hill, run with it down the hill, jump on, and release the clutch in first gear and without fail, it would start. I was in college with no money and didn’t do any work on it. It never failed me until it was stolen. It was a two cylinder 4 stroke smooth running bike with all the power I needed to drive on 95 safely. I loved that old bike on which I learned to ride. So I understand your desire to fix up a similar bike.
never heard of folks freezing a tank to get dents out that sounds like one way to ruin a tank real quick! ..i would weld on some rods and use a slide hammer to pull them dents out. That would work guys to it all the time.
What about using some air to pop it out. Real low pressure but plug it all up and try to us like 3 to 5 psi to start. Saw my late granddad do that on a tank on a 80 something CB650 my Dad had bought wrecked.
To get those dents out of the gastank simple empty the tank. Fill it with green peas the dry ones fill it till the filling neck. Fill it with water next to the peas. Put the cap on. Let it stand for sat a view hours you will see the dents are plopping back. Sometimes perfect without paint cracks. Try that methode.
